ReTwis 5+ — detecting persons behind a solid obstacle
The signal processing of the ReTwis 5+ radar is optimized to detect the small changes caused by human or animal movement, thus making it possible to localize, for example, humans on the basis of their breathing alone.

The ReTwis 5+ (RETIA Through-Wall Imaging System) is a unique small, portable radar that detects living beings behind a wall or behind a non-metallic obstacle. Thanks to its technology, the radar can detect living beings both in motion and at rest.
Its small size, low weight and long operation period make the ReTwis 5+ a highly mobile device with many uses, especially in special police and army units.

Basic characteristics
Technology
The ReTwis 5+ radar uses UltraWideBand (UWB) radar technology. UWB technology is specific due to its high resolution, its resistance to interference and its virtual lack of effect (interference) on other radio systems. Another advantage is easy signal penetration through walls or other non-metallic obstacles. The visual outputs of objects hidden behind a wall are displayed on the basis of processing the impulses reflected from them. The average transmit power is only 2 mW. Since ReTwis 5+ does not transmit most of the time but only receives, the potential human exposure is significantly lower than that of an ordinary mobile phone.
